Award-winning storyteller.
Strategic Communications Professional and Executive Speech Writer.
I’m a strategic communicator with undeniable passion and drive. I’m a team player and a hard worker.
My experience makes me an effective and desired communications professional. My current role as a speech writer at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center includes writing and creating engaging, targeted and technical executive communications and public relations/public affairs products for internal and external audiences through research and analysis. With my news background, I can provide on-camera updates and give feedback to executives on speeches and presentations. I’m all about good storytelling and enabling others to get their message into the world effectively.
Experienced Journalist, Anchor and Reporter
Previously an Anchor/Reporter and Multimedia Journalist at WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama, I anchored weekend evening shows and often reported on multiple stories every day. Viewers knew me as Kristen Conner. My live reporting took me all over North Alabama, into Georgia and even to Washington, D.C. I specialized in stories involving local city governments, politics, education, NASA, and coverage of Redstone Arsenal.
Before my time in Alabama, I reported at WVVA News in West Virginia. I worked from the main station after I was promoted from a position as the Greenbrier Valley Bureau Chief. In college, I interned at NBC Philadelphia and WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD.
My reporting and documentary work is award-winning. A half-hour documentary I produced with a team of two others received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award in April 2017. I have also earned multiple awards for feature and general assignment reporting. I have also produced award-winning live telethons, news series and investigative projects. You’ll find a list of accomplishments below.
In my spare time I like to read, spend time with my husband and two dachshunds, and eat brunch.
